INVADE H2020 Project

In the context of european H2020 research and development projects, our client and project partner is responsible of implementing a pilot site to prove the advantages of adding flexibility to the electric distribution grid. This pilot takes place in a secondary substation, which supplies 158 users.

A 210 kWh lithium battery was specially developed to provide top-class performance and interface with a custom built 100 kW Power Electronics. Both systems will help proving that a shared energy storage is a safe, reliable and emission-free alternative to gensets for critical loads.

The battery system consists of 22 Cell Modules connected in series, each with its self-developed BMS electronics, protections, cooling and digital interface. A Central Control Unit is also responsible of Power Electronics interface, network connection and data logging and monitoring of safety critical parameters.

The flexible design and architecture of the system allows easy scalability and maintainability, characteristics of added value in development environments.
